Teasel Root has antibacterial, antiviral, detoxifying, and immune boosting properties.  It has been traditionally used to support a healthy musculoskeletal system (muscles, bones, ligaments, and tendons). It is bitter, aromatic, slightly sweet, clearing, and stimulating. The teasel root offered by Mountain Rose Herbs is responsibly gathered by local wildcrafters.

Teasel is easily recognized by its prickly leaves and stem, along with its pinkish or purplish flowers that form on a large head.  According to the herbalist Brigitte Mars, “the common name teasel derives from the Old English word “tcesan”, meaning “to tease”, in reference to the use of the tops in carding wool.

Our Mountain Rose Herbs teasel tincture is made with fresh teasel roots and organic alcohol at their extract facility. Teasel extract can be blended with Solomon’s seal extract, or turmeric extract, among others. It can be taken in water or juice or added to teas such as turmeric ginger tea.
