The herb is considered sour, spicy, and cool. The properties of Lemon Balm are diaphoretic, calmative, antispasmodic, carminative, emmenagogue, and stomachic. It is also know for having antiviral properties, being used in topical preparations for Herpes simplex virus. It is the perfect remedy to help break a fever, an ideal children’s remedy, for stomach problems as well as calming the nerves and helping fall asleep.
